Jamaica Wedding Planning Expo Set to Take Over Kingston This March

Kingston, Jamaica – So, you’re planning to get hitched in 2025 and haven’t really started yet? Yeah, I feel you. It’s a lot. But here’s a little nudge: you’re gonna want to block off the first weekend in March. The Jamaica Wedding Planning Expo is back at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel on March 1 and 2, and trust me, it’s bigger than ever this year.

The expo, now five years strong, kicks off Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. We’re talking over 60 vendors under one roof—custom gowns, flower arrangements, live bands, photographers, you name it. And the price? Just $1,000 for adults, and kids under 12 get in free.

“We’re expecting upwards of 3,000 couples and families over the two days,” says Karen Williams, the event coordinator and owner of Blissful Beginnings Events. “People are coming from as far as Montego Bay and Ocho Rios. Wedding planning can feel overwhelming, but we want to show folks that you can have a beautiful wedding without breaking the bank.”

Karen’s been in the wedding game for over 15 years, and she’s not just talking. The expo will have live demos—cake tasting sessions, bouquet-making workshops, and even a fashion show on Saturday evening showing off the latest bridal looks from local designers like Sasha’s Bridal House and D’Lux Designs.

“I remember my own wedding planning days,” Karen added with a laugh. “It was chaos. That’s why I decided to create an event where everything is under one roof. You can meet the caterer, see the photographer’s portfolio, and even book the venue all in one weekend. It saves time and stress.”

One of the biggest draws this year? A panel discussion on Sunday at 2 p.m. called “Budget-Friendly Weddings That Wow.” Local wedding planner and author Michelle Gordon will lead the session. “Couples often think they need a million dollars to have a dream wedding,” Michelle said. “But I’ve planned beautiful ceremonies for under $500,000. It’s about knowing where to cut and where to splurge.”

The expo is also shining a light on small businesses from rural parishes. Vendors from St. Elizabeth and Portland will be showcasing handmade decorations and locally sourced flowers. “We want to support the whole island,” Karen said. “Weddings here are about community, and we want everyone to feel included.”

Can’t make it in person? No worries. The expo will be livestreamed on the Jamaica Wedding Planning Expo Facebook page. Virtual attendees can still book consultations with vendors through the event website.

So if you’re planning a wedding this year or just gathering ideas, mark March 1 and 2 on your calendar. As Karen put it, “Come with your questions, leave with your plans.”

Practical takeaway: Bring a notebook and a list of your top three priorities—budget, venue, and guest count. That way, you can compare vendors quickly and leave with a clear action plan.
